Earth Day 2025 at Toucan Rescue Ranch: Celebrating Conservation & Reforestation!

Join Toucan Rescue Ranch (TRR) this Earth Day as we continue our commitment to wildlife conservation and the restoration of Costa Rican habitats! This year, we’re celebrating the continuation of our “Bosque de Los Perezosos” Reforestation Project in partnership with Café Britt.

After being on standby during the pandemic, the project is making a triumphant return, with plans to expand our Release Site by planting more trees to create a crucial biological corridor. This expanded forest canopy will help reconnect fragmented habitats, giving our released sloths, toucans, and other wildlife the opportunity to thrive in a healthier, more interconnected rainforest.

Event Highlights:

1. Reforestation Project:

• Bosque de Los Perezosos: Celebrate the return of this important project that aims to expand the release site’s rainforest, providing safe and connected habitats for wildlife. With the generous support of Café Britt and their volunteers, dozens of trees will be planted to further restore the forest and strengthen the ecosystem.
• Tree Planting with Café Britt: See firsthand how Café Britt volunteers contribute to this massive effort, which plays a pivotal role in supporting the Saving Sloths Together (SST) program and other wildlife initiatives at TRR.

2. In-Person Activities:

• Wildlife Tours & Meet the Sloths: Explore the sanctuary and interact with our animals, including the resident sloths, toucans, and monkeys, while learning about their rehabilitation and release into the wild.

3. Virtual Experiences:

• Live Virtual Tours: For those unable to join us in person, we’re offering live, virtual tours of the Ranch. Explore our conservation efforts, including the Saving Sloths Together.
• Interactive Q&A with Experts: Ask questions to our team of veterinarians, biologists, and conservationists as they share insights into the challenges and rewards of wildlife rehabilitation and reforestation.

4. Support the Cause:
