Alejandra, a dedicated Zootechnical Engineer from the University of Costa Rica, graduated in 2021 with a thesis exploring the impact of Californian red worms on blue tilapia. Her passion for wildlife led her to study animal nutrition at La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park and earn a certification in animal facility management in 2019.

Alejandra’s hands-on experience includes volunteering with turtles at Refugio Romelia and working with them in 2020. She joined Toucan Rescue Ranch as a tour guide in 2022, where she combines her love for wildlife with her expertise in animal nutrition. Alejandra is committed to educating visitors from around the world and enhancing the care and diets of the sanctuary’s animals.
