Andrés Sáenz Bräutigam, from Costa Rica, is a dedicated veterinarian at Toucan Rescue Ranch. He grew up as a neighbor to the Ranch and began volunteering in July 2014.
After traveling abroad, he returned to work in the clinic, discovered his passion for veterinary medicine, and pursued his degree.
With a bachelor’s in veterinary medicine, Andrés has taken on various roles at the Ranch, including tour guide, vet intern, animal husbandry intern, and Animal Husbandry team “Toucan Team” coordinator.
He plays a crucial role in animal care, aiding in rehabilitation, managing diets, and supporting wildlife.
Andrés loves being in front of the camera and is featured on TRR’s social media, educating the public about Costa Rican wildlife. His deep affection for sloths has inspired him to expand the Saving Sloths Together Program.
