Stephanie Valle Cubero is the Environmental Education Coordinator and a guide at Toucan Rescue Ranch.
She studied Tropical Biology at the National University (UNA) of Costa Rica and is pursuing a Lic. degree in Natural Resource Management at the Universidad Estatal a
Distancia (UNED), with her thesis focused on Environmental Education.
Since 2010, she has worked as a naturalist guide and has served as a teaching assistant for the Organisation of Tropical Studies (OTS), instructing undergraduate students in Tropical Biology.
Stephanie’s commitment to wildlife conservation is evident from her early volunteer work with ONGs like UESPRA and PRETOMA and her activism in several conservation campaigns. She is also an enthusiastic ornithologist, involved with a group of women birders working to make birding more inclusive and educational.

Stephanie Valle Cubero is the Environmental Education Coordinator and a guide at Toucan Rescue Ranch. With a background in Tropical Biology from the National University (UNA) and ongoing studies in Natural Resource Management at UNED, Stephanie is dedicated to transforming local communities' relationships with wildlife through her thesis on Environmental Education. She brings over a decade of experience as a naturalist guide and teaching assistant, having worked with ONGs like UESPRA and PRETOMA. Passionate about conservation and ornithology, Stephanie is also part of a group of women birders advocating for inclusivity in the field.
